Join Us for a Special World Book Day!
While World Book Day officially falls on Thursday, 6th March, we will be celebrating on Wednesday, 5th March, so that all our children, including those who attend at different ends of the week, can participate in the fun!
Dress Up as Your Favourite Book Character
We’re inviting all children to come to nursery dressed as their favourite book character on Wednesday. Staff will be joining in the fun too!
Homemade Costumes Encouraged
We understand that buying new costumes can be expensive, so we’re encouraging families to:
- Make costumes at home using items you already have
- Buy second-hand costumes if needed
- Get children involved in creating their own costumes as a fun activity
Our staff have created a poster with simple costume ideas that don’t require lots of materials or expense. These creative activities are a wonderful way to engage children in the World Book Day experience while developing their imagination and crafting skills.
World-Book-Day-2025Activities Planned
Each room will organise its own special World Book Day activities for the children to enjoy. These will include storytelling sessions, craft activities, and much more!
Looking Back
Below are some photos from previous World Book Day celebrations at Hartcliffe Nursery School. Our staff had a wonderful time dressing up as their favourite characters!

We look forward to seeing all the fantastic costumes next Wednesday!
