We are thrilled to share that Hartcliffe Nursery School has been selected to receive a grant through the National Education Nature Park programme, funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and delivered in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). We are one of just 1,205 nurseries, schools and colleges across England chosen to benefit from this exciting initiative.
The grant has allowed us to transform a previously tarmacked area of our outdoor space into a fantastic, large sandpit, and the difference it has made is already clear to see. Children are now able to dig, build, pour and explore in a way that simply wasn’t possible before, and the space has also had a really positive impact on the biodiversity of our grounds.
The National Education Nature Park programme is all about helping young people connect with nature, develop green skills and contribute to real environmental change. We are proud to be part of a growing network of nearly 3,000 education settings across the country that are doing exactly that, and we can’t wait to see how our outdoor space continues to grow and evolve.
