With warm weather expected next week, we want to make sure all children can enjoy their time at Hartcliffe Nursery School safely and comfortably.
Please remember to send your child with a sun hat, named where possible, and a water bottle to help them stay hydrated throughout the day. Cool, lightweight and comfortable clothing suitable for warm weather is also a must. Suncream, factor 50, should be applied before your child arrives at nursery, and if they will need reapplication during the day, please provide a named bottle for us to use.
We will be doing our part too, keeping indoor environments as cool as possible, offering regular drinks and hydration opportunities, and using flexible routines to respond to the temperature throughout the day. We will take frequent shade breaks when outdoors, offer additional rest and quiet periods as needed, and limit outdoor play during the hottest part of the day, between 11am and 3pm. Children will also have access to shaded areas whenever they are outside.
