A new housing advice drop-in service has launched in Hartcliffe, providing free, independent support for anyone experiencing housing difficulties.
The weekly drop-in sessions are run by Caring in Bristol’s Early Doors homelessness prevention project, working in partnership with Housing Matters, Shelter Bristol and Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership. The service was established in response to local residents expressing a real need for regular housing advice and support in the area.
The drop-in offers one-to-one advice and support for people living in rented or socially rented housing who are facing issues with their homes. This includes help with landlord problems, eviction notices, difficulties paying rent, damp and mould issues, neighbour harassment, family breakdown and other housing concerns. The service is particularly valuable for single adults experiencing housing difficulties.
Sessions take place every Friday from 10am to 12.30pm in the Community Room at Symes Community Building on Peterson Avenue, Hartcliffe. No appointment is necessary – anyone living in Hartcliffe or Withywood can simply drop in during these times. Reception staff can direct visitors to the right room if needed.
