The children in Woodpeckers have been busy planting and caring for their own bean plants. They are amazed to see how fast they grow and how different they look each day. They have been learning about the different parts of the plant and the stages of its life cycle. They have also been practising their drawing skills by sketching their plants and labelling them. They enjoy comparing their plants with each other and seeing who has the tallest, shortest, or most leaves.

Next up, they will be reading the classic fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. They will use words like big, small, tall, short, high, and low to describe the characters and the setting. They will also have a chance to act out some of the scenes from the story and use their imagination to create their own versions. We can’t wait to see what they come up with!
