30 Hours Free Childcare is a scheme that helps eligible parents and carers access free childcare for their 3 or 4 year-old children. You can get up to 30 hours a week during term time.

To be eligible for 30 hours of free childcare, you and your partner (if you have one) must meet certain criteria, such as working and earning a minimum amount. Your child must be 3 or 4 years old and live with you.

You can apply online for a childcare account to get a code for 30 hours to give to your provider. You can use these 30 hours of free childcare at the same time as claiming Universal Credit, tax credits, childcare vouchers or Tax-Free Childcare.
